Let's Talk Again - Vincent Schlämann

How long have you been working for alugha?

Currently I'm still a student and I'm only doing an internship in my spare time at alugha. However, after my high school degree I'd like to start my future at alugha.

What's the first thing you do in the office?

The first thing I do when I arrive at the office in the morning is of course saying hello to all colleagues I meet on my way. After finding a place to sit, I start my day in the office with a cool beverage from our company fridge.

What part of your job do you enjoy most?

I enjoy starting a task in the morning and finishing it before the day ends. Moreover, I like the working atmosphere here very much. It makes stressful situations less stressful and in the end there's basically a good mood in every office.

Which project / task / experience did you enjoy most in the last year?

As an intern I haven't had that much experiences at alugha so far. But I enjoyed the tasks I had very much. I created the pricing page for the alugha webpage. I was able to find my way through all details and in the end I developed quite a nice product.

What has made you laugh today?

There have been many things that made me laugh today. I think without laughing the working atmosphere isn't good and you're less productive. If I had to decide on what was the most funny moment, it would be a comment from Steffen on the question what I should do today. But I can't recall it...

No workplace is perfect. What would you like to change at alugha?

At alugha there are many things you could change, but the question remains whether it would be an improvement. For me personally, the most pleasant change would be a better isolated office against heat, as subtropical temperatures form when six PCs are running in one room.

Have you discovered a new side to yourself?

So far I haven't noticed a big change in my own personality. It is rather small things that one discovers and learns to appreciate about oneself. For me, one of these little things would be the urge to keep order, both in the code and at my workspace.

To what extent did the international team influence you?

In any case, the international team has made me more open to other cultures and shown me many new perspectives on every aspect of life. This has allowed me to gain more understanding of other people's views on alugha-related issues as well as everyday issues.

What challenge did you have to face?

The most difficult task I had to face was deciding what I would like to do after graduating from high school. Alugha helped me and showed me a job that I enjoy without pushing me in a certain direction. Which is why I would always go back to work for alugha.

What's your personal big dream?

For me it has always been a great dream to travel the world and see the many wonderful places all over the world. Which is why I prefer to save money for holidays and leisure rather than spend it on other purposes.

What's your advice to a new alughan?

As a newcomer among the alugharans there is not much to watch out for. But a taboo, which you should never do wrong, is to take a drink out of the fridge without refilling it.
