Summary
alugha’s AI features turn a single source video into a fully multilingual production. All AI lives in one menu — Automation in the dubbr toolbar, and follows a clear 3-step pipeline. This article shows you the pipeline, what each step costs, and where to find advanced features.
Where the AI features live
Open any video in the dubbr (View channel → EDIT). In the toolbar, click Automation (the AI chip icon). The dropdown shows four entries:
- Speech To Text. Transcribe spoken audio.
- Automated Translation. Translate text into another language.
- Text To Speech. Generate AI voiceover from text.
- Subtitle Accessibility. Accessibility enhancements for subtitles.
Each entry opens a dialog that previews the credit cost before you submit.
The 3-step AI pipeline
The standard workflow is STT → Translation → TTS. Run the steps in order, on the right language tab, and you end up with a fully dubbed multilingual video.
Step 1. Speech-To-Text (STT)
On the source-language tab (the language actually spoken in the video), open Automation → Speech To Text. Pick the spoken language, keep Transcript selected, submit. Supports 100+ languages.
See Transcribe your video with Speech-To-Text.
Step 2. Automated Translation
Add a target-language track via Tools → Add A New Language. Switch to the new tab. Open Automation → Automated Translation. Pick the fields to translate (Title, Description, Tags, Transcript, Subtitles), submit. Supports 200+ languages.
See Translate your video with Add A New Language.
Step 3. Text-To-Speech (TTS)
Stay on the target-language tab. Open Automation → Text To Speech. Review voice assignments per speaker, submit. The track now has an AI dub.
See Generate AI voiceover with Text-To-Speech.
How credits work
Every AI dialog shows three numbers before you submit:
- Credits left in your wallet. Current balance.
- Required credits for this action. Cost of the upcoming job.
- Credits remaining afterwards. Balance after the job runs.
Rough rule of thumb for a 3-minute video: STT ~50 credits, Translation ~30, TTS ~50 per target language. Free plan starts with 200 credits/month. See Understand alugha plans and credits and Buy and manage your credits.
Advanced AI features
Glossary (add-on)
A Glossary protects brand names, product names, and technical jargon across languages. Configure once, applied to every Translation and TTS job. Available on paid plans as an add-on.
Voice cloning (Enterprise add-on)
Clone your own voice once and reuse it in any target language. Ideal for consistent multilingual content where the original speaker should sound the same in every language.
Subtitle Accessibility
Accessibility enhancements for subtitles. Better timing, reading speed adjustments, and Closed-Caption-friendly formatting.
Background processing
AI jobs run in the background. You can close the tab and come back. Each job appears under Active jobs on the PROJECT tab and moves to Completed when done. Click Reload now to refresh the editor.
While Speech-To-Text or Translation runs, the affected language track is read-only. Other tracks remain editable.
