You’ve heard it before and you’ll hear it again, smoking is terrible for you. Cigarettes are packed with toxins like carbon monoxide, which binds to blood cells and prevents them from bonding with oxygen. There are numerous risks associated with smoking, including heart attacks, coronary heart disease, strokes and lung cancer. But often, smokers don’t realize how terrible smoking is until they quit the habit altogether and start to see how quickly their body responds.
