Driver Assistance Systems: Part 7 – Blind Spot Sensor
The Blind Spot sensor works from 15 km/h and can alert the driver by means of an LED indicator in the exterior mirror where another vehicle or object is located in the warning area. Radar sensors in the rear monitor the area behind and alongside the vehicle. This allows, within the system’s limits, vehicles to be detected over a range of 20 metres.
The Rear Traffic Alert is available combination with Blind Spot Sensor and assists the driver, within the system’s limits, when reversing out of a parking space. Sensors in the rear bumper enable the system to monitor the lateral area behind the vehicle much earlier than the driver.
