🇮🇳 India - Prime Minister Addresses General Debate, 74th Session

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, addresses the general debate of the 74th Session of the General Assembly of the UN (New York, 24 – 30 September 2019). “This year, the world’s biggest election took place,” said India's Prime Minister Narenda Modi on Friday (27 Sep) in New York. “In the world’s biggest democracy, the highest ever number of voters voted my government into power for a second term with an even stronger mandate than before.” Addressing the General Assembly high-level debate, Modi listed the achievements of his Government in improving living conditions for the people of India, such as improved access to sanitation and health services and he announced a plan to rid the Indian subcontinent from single-use plastic. The Indian Prime Minister also warned against the fragmentation of the world and called for a new direction to multilateralism.
