alugha’s New Pricing: Simpler Plans, More Flexibility & Your Price Stays Protected
We’re making a big change at alugha, and we want to be direct about it.
For the past few years, we’ve been operating with eight different pricing plans. It made sense at the time—we wanted to serve everyone from solo podcasters to enterprise teams. But here’s what we learned: eight plans don’t serve anyone. They confuse everyone. Our support team was drowning in pricing questions. Free users were paralyzed trying to figure out which plan was right for them. Existing customers were wondering if they were on the right tier. We were solving the wrong problem.
So we’re fixing it. Starting in January, alugha will have three simple pricing tiers instead of eight. And here’s the part that matters most: if you’re already paying for alugha, your price never changes. Not when you renew, only if you upgrade. That’s our commitment to you. But if you’re still on the free plan—or considering upgrading—this is your moment. Lock in today’s pricing before January, and you’ll keep these lower rates forever.
Let me walk you through what’s changing, why we’re doing it, and what it means for you.
Why We’re Simplifying: The Real Story

When we started alugha, we believed in choice. Different creators have different needs, so we built different plans. Beginner, Beginner (verified), Starter, Small Business, Premium, Let’s Talk, Radio Shaker, Messenger – eight distinct options, each with its own pricing and features.
It felt comprehensive. It felt flexible. It felt like we were solving for everyone.
What it actually was: complicated.
The data told us the story. Our support inbox was full of questions like “Which plan should I choose?” and “Am I on the right plan?” We were spending more time helping people navigate our pricing than helping them create amazing multilingual content. That’s backwards.
More importantly, we were underpricing our product. As alugha grew—as we invested in better AI, faster processing, more features—our pricing didn’t reflect the value we were delivering. We were competing on price instead of competing on quality. That’s not sustainable for a startup.
So we made a decision: simplify the pricing, increase the value, and be honest about what we’re worth.
The new structure is three tiers: Free, Creator, and Business, plus Enterprise for organizations with custom needs. Each tier is a clear step up in capabilities. No confusion. No wasted features you don’t need. Just straightforward pricing that matches straightforward value.
The New alugha Pricing: Three Plans That Actually Make Sense

Here’s what the new pricing looks like:
| Plan | Price | Monthly Credits | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 200 | Getting started with multilingual video |
| Creator | €10/month | 2,000 | Content creators, YouTubers, growing channels |
| Business | €99/month | 30,000 | Agencies, production teams, serious operations |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Large organizations with unique needs |
That’s it. Four tiers. Each one is a meaningful step up from the last.
What Credits Actually Mean
I know “2,000 credits” is just a number. Let me make it real.
With 2,000 credits in a month, you could do one of the following:
- Upload and process up to 125 minutes of video content in HD
- Store up to 1,500 minutes of content per month
- Transcribe up to 75 minutes of audio with our Speech-to-Text AI
- Generate up to 75 minutes of audio with our Text-to-Speech AI
- Translate up to 30,000 words of text into another language
Or you could mix and match. Dub 10 videos, transcribe 5 podcasts, translate some blog content—all within your monthly 2,000 credits.
The Business plan gives you 30,000 credits. That’s 15 times the Creator plan. If you’re running a production team, that’s the difference between “we can handle most projects” and “we can handle everything.”
The Flexibility You Actually Need
Here’s something competitors don’t tell you: you’re not locked into your monthly credits.
Run out of credits mid-month? Buy more. Our bulk pricing means the more you buy at once, the less you pay per credit. Buy 6,000 credits and you get a 1% discount. Buy 150,000 and you get 10% off. No expiration date. No waste.
This is the real advantage of alugha’s credit system. You’re not paying for features you don’t use. You’re not locked into a plan that doesn’t fit. You pay for what you actually need, when you need it.
What’s Changing for You (Depending on Where You Are)
Let me be specific about how this affects different people.
If You’re on the Free Plan
You have two options:
Option 1: Stay free. Nothing changes. You keep your 200 credits per month forever. No pressure to upgrade.
Option 2: Upgrade before January. If you upgrade to Starter (€4,99/month) or Small Business (€61,25/month) before the new pricing launches, you lock in that price. Forever. Even when you renew next year.
This is a genuine opportunity. After January, customers will see the new pricing. But if you upgrade now, you’re grandfathered in at today’s rates.
If You’re on a Starter Plan (€4.99/month)
Your price doesn’t change. You stay at €4.99 as long as you keep your Starter plan.
But here’s what’s worth considering: the new Creator plan (€10/month) gives you 2,000 credits instead of 1,500. That’s 33% more capacity for just double the price. Plus, you get access to features that weren’t available before—better audio track support, subtitle generation, and more.
If you upgrade to Creator before January, you lock in €10/month forever. After January, new customers will pay the new Creator price (which is higher). So if the new plan appeals to you, now is the time.
If You’re on a Small Business Plan (€61.25/month)
Your price is protected. You stay at €61.25 as long as you keep this plan.
The new Business plan (€99/month) gives you 30,000 credits instead of 15,450—double the capacity. You also get features like account managers, advanced analytics, API access, and full collaboration tools. It’s a genuinely different tier.
If You’re on a Podcast Plan (Let’s Talk, Radio Shaker, Messenger)
Your plan isn’t going anywhere. We’re not forcing podcast creators into the video structure. Your price is protected, and you can keep your podcast plan indefinitely.
That said, we’re consolidating how we talk about podcasts. If you want to explore the new video plans—or if you want to do both podcasts and videos—you now have a clearer path to do that.
What’s Coming: Vertical Videos & Beyond
One more thing: Vertical Videos have launched now.
If you’re creating for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts, this matters. Vertical video support means no more awkward letterboxing, no more wasted space. Your content fills the screen the way it’s meant to.
You can embedd vertical videos without time restrictions now on your website of choice.
We’re also working on Voice Cloning, Live Streaming, and other features that will roll out over the coming months. The new pricing structure gives us the margin to invest in these features properly, instead of spreading ourselves thin across eight different plans.

Your Price Is Protected. Here’s What That Means.
Let us be crystal clear about grandfathering, because this is important.
If you’re paying for alugha today, your price never increases. Not on renewal, ONLY IF YOU UPGRADE
This applies to:
- Monthly plans (you keep your current monthly rate)
- Annual plans (you keep your current annual rate at renewal)
The exception: if you’re on the free plan and upgrade after January, you’ll see only the new pricing. But if you upgrade before January, you’re grandfathered in.
This is our way of saying: we value the people who believed in us early. You took a chance on alugha when we were smaller. You gave us feedback. You helped us build something better. We’re not going to penalize you for that.
Why We’re Raising Prices (And Why It Matters)
We want to be honest about why we’re doing this.
First: we were underpriced. When you compare alugha to other multilingual video platforms, we’re delivering more value for less money. That’s not sustainable. It’s not healthy for the company, and it’s not healthy for the product. Underpriced products don’t get the investment they deserve.
Second: we need to scale responsibly. We’re choosing to invest. Better infrastructure. Better AI. Better support. That costs money.
Third: simplification is valuable. Eight plans created confusion. Three plans create clarity. That clarity is worth something—both to us (simpler to maintain, simpler to market) and to you (easier to choose, easier to understand what you’re getting).
We’re not raising prices because we got greedy. We’re raising prices because we’re getting serious about what alugha can be.
The Credit System: Your Safety Net
One more thing that matters: you never get surprised by a bill.
If you run out of credits, your videos don’t disappear. They just get throttled to a lower resolution until you buy more credits. You’re always in control. You always know what you’re paying.
This is different from other platforms that lock you out or force you to upgrade mid-project. With alugha, you have options. Buy credits when you need them. Buy in bulk and save. Or stick with your monthly plan and stay within your limit.
It’s flexible because we know creators don’t work on a fixed schedule. Some months you’re slammed. Some months you’re quiet. Our pricing reflect that reality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When exactly does the new pricing start?
A: In January. We don’t have an exact date yet. If you want to lock in current pricing, upgrade before then.
Q: What if I’m happy with my current plan?
A: You don’t have to change anything. Your price is protected. You can stay exactly where you are.
Q: Can I upgrade now and lock in the old price?
A: Yes. If you upgrade before January, you lock in that plan’s current price forever.
Q: What about my annual plan?
A: Same protection. When your annual plan renews, you pay the same rate you locked in today. If you upgrade during your annual term, you pay the current price for that tier.
Q: I’m on a podcast plan. What happens to me?
A: Nothing changes. Your podcast plan stays exactly as it is. You’re grandfathered in. You can keep it indefinitely, or you can explore the new video plans if you want to expand into video content.
Q: Can I buy extra credits mid-month?
A: Absolutely. Run out of credits? Buy more anytime. Bulk purchases get discounts—the more you buy, the less you pay per credit.
Q: Is this permanent?
A: Yes. Grandfathering is permanent. You’re locked in for as long as you have an active subscription and don’t upgrade.
The Bottom Line
We’re simplifying because complexity doesn’t serve anyone. We’re raising prices because we’re serious about the product. And we’re protecting your pricing because loyalty matters.
If you’re on the free plan and thinking about upgrading, now is the time. If you’re already paying, thank you—and your price is safe.
We’re building something real here. Something that helps creators break language barriers and reach global audiences. The new pricing structure gives us the foundation to do that properly.
