IJsselmeer, Markermeer & North Sea – sailing single-handed with Paikea

Single-handed sailing trip with the Hallberg-Rassy 310 “Paikea”: 190 nautical miles from Hindeloopen via Lelystad, Amsterdam, and IJmuiden to the North Sea, on to Den Helder and Texel, through the Kornwerderzand lock back to the IJsselmeer, and back to Hindeloopen. Lots of locks, varied sailing areas, and, weather-wise, a trip through almost all seasons. From Hindeloopen, I head to Lelystad, where I anchor in front of the lock. From there, I sail into the Markermeer to Amsterdam. There, I sail right through the middle of the big sailing party “Sail Amsterdam 2025.” I continue on the North Sea Canal to Ijmuiden. From there, I head south to Scheveningen. Then back to Den Helder, where the marina is located in a naval base. Via the island of Texel, I cross the Wadden Sea to the Kornwerderzand lock. I stay there for one night at anchor and then sail back to Hindeloopen in wonderful sailing conditions. #sailing #singlehandedsailing #HallbergRassy #IJsselmeer #Markermeer #Amsterdam #IJmuiden #DenHelder #Texel #Kornwerderzand #NorthSea #sailingNetherlands
