Single-handed around the northern IJsselmeer - a long sailing weekend
Single-handed sailing trip: Around the northern IJsselmeer | Sailing into the Blues
A long weekend alone on my 31-foot sailboat – I set off from Hindeloopen on a short trip around the northern IJsselmeer. Fantastic anchorages, misty atmospheres, and quiet harbors make this trip special.
My route:
⚓ Hindeloopen → De Kreupel bird island (at anchor – sunset & sunrise)
⚓ Onward to the old Vluchthaven between Medemblik & Andijk – a sheltered anchorage
⚓ Overnight stay in the small marina of Den Oever
⚓ Calm seas & fog on the way across the IJsselmeer to the Kornwerderzand lock – right through the Fryslân wind farm
⚓ Last night at anchor at Kornwerderzand
⚓ Early morning return to Hindeloopen
A relaxed single-handed trip with many special moments – from solitary anchoring to quiet foggy passages.

A calm autumn weekend sailing trip on the IJsselmeer – from Hindeloopen to Enkhuizen and the bird island De Kreupel.
Strong winds on day one, light winds and fog later, and my first test with the Code Zero sail.
Peaceful moments, quiet waters – just sailing as it is.
