Die Mehlinger Heide war ursprünglich ein schöner großer Wald, welcher bis Ende der 1930er Jahre gerodet wurde. Im weiteren Verlauf nutzten die Franzosen das Gebiet dann als Truppenübungsplatz und noch heute können dort Sprengmittel liegen. In diesem Video geht es um einen interessanten Point innerhalb der Mehlinger Heide: ein Unterstand mit Informationstafeln. Zugänglich ist er über die Eulenroute und am schnellsten zu finden, wenn man über den Parkplatz gegenüber dem Penny Markt startet. Von dort ist es ein etwa 10 minütiger Spaziergang.
