0:01 → 0:04
I'm sure you've already seen it a few times this year.
0:04 → 0:08
The go to hair style for girls with long hair is the Dutch Braid.
0:08 → 0:09
You can see it on the streets.
0:09 → 0:12
But even stars like Kim Kardashian wear it.
0:12 → 0:18
In this video I'll teach you how to do the Dutch Braid on yourself or on other people.
0:18 → 0:20
Brush your head thoroughly.
0:20 → 0:23
I promise that will make everything way easier.
0:24 → 0:25
Now, draw a neat pot.
0:25 → 0:32
I like the pot to be in the middle of this look but you can also draw it a bit to either side.
0:33 → 0:35
That works best with a tail comb like this one.
0:35 → 0:42
Take a strawn of hair from the top of your head right next to the pot and divide it into three small strands with two fingers.
0:42 → 0:44
Start braiding.
0:44 → 0:49
But remember to always braid under the middle strand for the Dutch Braid.
0:49 → 0:53
You've got three strands: two outer strands and one middle strand.
0:53 → 0:56
Now take one of the outer strands and place it under the middle strand.
0:56 → 0:58
So the outer strand is now the middle strand.
0:58 → 1:01
Now do this again with the other outer strand.
1:01 → 1:04
Just remember to braid to the back of your head and not to the side.
1:04 → 1:11
Now take a piece of hair that isn't in the braid yet and add it to the outer strand and keep on braiding normally.
1:11 → 1:18
You just keep on adding new strands of hair to the outer strands and braid them under until they are no more strands of hair to add to the braid.
1:18 → 1:20
It will look best if you braid quite firmly.
1:20 → 1:27
Even if you want it to look a little bit loose and messy, you can still make it looser when you're done.
1:27 → 1:30
Now, just keep braiding downwards normally.
1:30 → 1:37
It's very important, though, to tighten the braid before you start braiding down, tie it with a small hair tie and you're done.
1:37 → 1:43
If you want to add some volume, tug on the braid and pull it apart with your fingers a little bit.
1:43 → 1:48
You can also pull out some small strands of hair from the front to frame your face.
1:48 → 1:53
If you want it to look neat and tidy, spray some hair spray on your comb and brush the baby hair back.
1:53 → 1:58
This'll will also help the braid last longer.
1:58 → 2:01
Oh, and don't panic if it doesn't work out the first time you try it.
2:02 → 2:05
So far, no master has fallen from the sky.
2:05 → 2:10
