Ez a film mérföldkőnek számít a horrortörténelemben, hiszen ez volt az első zombis film. Az élőhalottak éjszakája Ben, Barbra és öt másik ember történetét mutatja be, akiket megtámadtak a zombik egy pennsylvaniai farmon.
