WatchUS: Wrist-Worn Ultrasound Smartwatch from ETH Zurich

A wrist-worn ultrasound watch built at the Integrated Systems Laboratory of ETH Zurich, acquiring pulse-echo data live. The watch display shows the M-mode line updating as the transducer is moved. The watch took first place among nine systems in the Bring Your Own Device session at the IEEE Central and Eastern Europe Ultrasonics Symposium (CEEUS 2026), Warsaw, 22 to 24 June 2026. Presented by Marc-André Wessner. The device runs the pulser, the analog front end and the full signal processing on a microcontroller inside a watch-sized enclosure.
