Genscher and the Refugees at the Prague Embassy in 1989

In September 1989, thousands of refugees from East Germany occupied the West Germany Embassy in Prague. After some tough negotiations in NewYork, then foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, standing on the embassy balcony, spoke the words that would resolve the crisis and make history: "We have come to you..."
