Video: “School-Based Outreach” (English) – :15 Seconds

Healthy students are better equipped for success in school and in life. Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) play a vital role in keeping kids healthy and safe by providing coverage for annual physicals, dental visits, immunizations, and other routine healthcare. Data show that children with health insurance are less likely to miss class and more likely to perform better in school compared to those who do not have health insurance. Additionally, children with health coverage are also more likely to graduate high school and college. With coverage through Medicaid and CHIP, parents can keep up with their child’s routine care, get them ready to go Back-to-School, and rest easy knowing that their child is covered for any care they may need. Families without health insurance may be eligible for free or low-cost health insurance available through Medicaid or CHIP and they can enroll at any time of the year. Parents may be eligible for Medicaid, too. Visit the “Find Coverage for Your Family” map on InsureKidsNow.gov or call 1-877-KIDS-NOW (1-877-543-7669) to learn more.
