Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, resistance fighter, revolutionary, publicist, moral teacher, ascetic and pacifist. At the beginning of the 20th century, Gandhi fought against racial segregation and for equal rights for Indians in South Africa. He was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar and died on January 30, 1948 in New Delhi.
