The Case of the Laughing Mummy is the 17th episode of the 1954-1955 TV series Sherlock Holmes starring Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes and Howard Marion-Crawford as Dr. Watson. Aired on 7 february 1955 on MPTV (USA). Black & White. 27 min. Holmes and Watson visit a country manor to see an ancient Egyptian mummy that allegedly makes strange laughing sounds, but Holmes deduces that the sound comes from the roof's weathercock. Holmes further identifies the supposed mummy as the body of the uncle of Reggie Taunton, professor Joseph Taunton.
