Escape artist Harry Crocker begs Holmes to help clear his name of a murder he didn't do, although all clues seem to accuse him. Holmes invesgigates in the theater where Crocker and the victim, Sally King, were performing, looks at the crime scene, and examines the victim's body at the morgue. Meanwhile, Lestrade becomes increasingly frustrated and angry with Crocker's repeated escapes from custody. Holmes reveals the murderer which was jealous of the victim's relationship with Harry Crocker.
