The boys thought they were going camping. Her parents at home believed that the sponsored excursion had something to do with leadership. None of them knew that they were actually part of a controversial experiment in realistic conflict resolution. Select a conflict to discuss with your class. Ask the students to vote (by show of hands or with clickers) whether they think they can theoretically solve the conflict. Divide the class into groups of two and give each group 10 minutes to find solutions to resolve the conflict. Then, ask the groups to present a main solution they believe in the most. Have students vote on which solution they think would work best. Play the Sprouts videos to clarify the question. Discuss the video and ask the class if the results presented in agreement with the idea are consistent with those of the theory. As an additional task, you can ask the groups to find characteristics (physical, mental, moral, economic) that people use to distinguish groups, as well as strategies that groups use to keep resources for themselves and from others (economic, physical, legal, psychological, social).
