There are probably two types of intelligence. Fluid intelligence is your ability to think quickly. It relies on the ability to maintain attention and benefits from a strong working memory. Crystalline intelligence is the ability to apply knowledge from previous learning processes that has been stored in long-term memory. To illustrate how the two work together, we have written a short fairy tale - the story of a young man who wants to save a young princess who has been captured by an evil witch.

Idea for an exercise in 7 steps:
Have students openly discuss what they mean by intelligence. As a suggestion, you could ask them to name people, animals, or machines that they think are intelligent. Write your ideas on the board (take about 5 minutes to do this).
Introduce the concept of 2 types of intelligence and play our video (10 minutes)
Show the class an overview of popular occupations, from airplane pilot to zoo director - perhaps you can use the above image as a suggestion (5 minutes)
Ask each student to choose a profession and explain what kind of intelligence they think will become world-class in that profession (5 minutes).
Have the students present their findings to each other in groups of two (5 minutes).
Ask for volunteers to present their results (10 minutes).
Summarize the results and answer questions (5 minutes)
Key question you might want to answer:
Do different professions need different types of intelligence?
Does this depend on the level of rank?
Who needs the most agility and who has the most crystallized intelligence?
