Magdeburg and its cathedral
In the 10th century, a monastery church was built in Magdeburg by Otto the Great. After a fire in 1207, construction of the Gothic cathedral began immediately. During the Thirty Years' War, the city was almost completely destroyed - except for the cathedral. Author: ZDF/Terra X/Faber Courtial/Jörg
